Mumbai traffic police announce curbs for MNS’s Gudi Padwa function

The order issued by Raj Tilak Roushan, Deputy Commissioner of Police (HQ and Central), will remain in force between 2 pm and 12 am.

The Mumbai traffic police have issued a notification announcing ‘no parking zones’ at seven roads around Dadar over Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray’s Padwa Melawa rally on the occasion of Gudi Padwa at Shivaji Park Wednesday.

Authorities said as a large number of MNS supporters will head towards Shivaji Park, traffic congestion is expected on the Western and Eastern Express Highway and also on the roads leading to the function’s venue due to which vehicular traffic will be regulated and controlled on some roads and if needed diversion may also be carried out.

As per the notification, parking will not be allowed on

1) S V S Road (From Siddhivinayak Mandir Junction up to Yes Bank junction),

2) Keluskar Road (South) and (North), Dadar,

3) M B Raut Marg,

4) Pandurang Naik Marg (Road No 5),

5) Dadasaheb Rege Marg,

6) Lt Dilip Gupte Marg (From Shivaji Park Gate No 4 up to Shitaladevi temple Junction)

7) N C Kelkar Marg (From Gadkari Junction up to Hanuman Temple Junction), Dadar.

Alternate routes suggested by the traffic police:

1) Right turn at Siddhivinayak Temple Junction to S K Bole Road, Agar Bazar- Portuguese Church, Left turn Gokhale Road-L J Road.

2) L J Road-Gokhale Road-Steel Man Junction right turn towards S V S road.

3) From Raja Bade Junction towards L J Road.

4) Shall use M B Raut Road

Instructions have also been issued for the vehicles carrying participants for Padwa Melawa.

Vehicles coming from various areas can drop participants at alignment points and proceed to park at designated parking places as follows:

1. Western and northern suburbs: Vehicles coming from western and northern suburbs through Western Express Highway can drop participants on Senapati Bapat road between Matunga Railway station to Ruparel College area and proceed for parking at Mahim Reti Bunder, India Bulls Finance Centre PPL Parking, Kamgar Maidan, and on Senapati Bapat Road. Light motor vehicles can be parked at Kohinoor PPL.

2. Eastern suburbs: Vehicles coming from Thane and Navi-Mumbai using Eastern Express highway can drop participants near Dadar T T Circle and proceed for parking towards Five Gardens, Matunga and R A K 4 Roads.

3. City and South Mumbai: Vehicles coming from South Mumbai using Veer Savarkar Road can drop participants at Ravindranath Natya Mandir and park at India Bulls Finance Centre P P L parking, Aappasaheb Marathe Road. Similarly, vehicles using B A Road can drop the participants at Dadar T T  Circle and park at the designated parking place at Five Garden or R A K 4 Road

3. India Bull Finance Centre PPL parking-Elphinstone

4. Kohinoor P P L parking, Shivaji Park

6. Periphery of Five Gardens, Matunga

7. Reti Bandar (Mahim)

8. R A K 4 Road
