Confusion among students after payment link for H R College course expires before deadline

The popular city college declared the fourth merit list on July 16. Students were asked to complete paying their fees by July 20, but many of them complained that the link to do so had expired on July 18.

One of the affected students said, “It was only after reaching the college that we found out we cannot complete paying the fees because all BMS seats at H R college were already filled by students until the third merit list. Why did the college declare a fourth merit list then?”

Another student said, “If the fourth merit list was already out, the college should not have allowed students from previous merit lists to pay fees.” Affected students have written a complaint letter to the Governor of Maharashtra.

The college administration however blamed ambiguity over BMS admissions this year as the reason for the issue. Principal of the college, Dr Pooja Ramchandani, said, “Due to the uncertainty over BMS admissions this year, students who got seats started jumping to confirm their admissions. As students from earlier merit lists had higher scores, they were able to confirm their admissions with paying fees.”

Stating that the issue was now resolved, Ramchandani said, “After students approached us with the issue, many of them were given the opportunity to take admission to other colleges affiliated to HSNC university for BMS or were given admission to alternative courses in H R College.”

While HSNC University along with other private universities have started BMS admissions, other city colleges await clarity from the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell, which will conduct the Common Admission Process (CAP) for BMS admissions.
