Dhillon inaugurates 220 KV sub-station

PWD Minister Sharanjeet Singh Dhillon inaugurated the 220 KV sub-station,Gaunsgarh,on Friday.

It has been upgraded from 66 KV to 220 KV with a total cost of Rs 11 crore spent by the Punjab State Transmission Corporation Limited. It is located in five acres of gram panchayat land on the Ludhiana-Rahon main road.

He reiterated the Punjab government’s commitment to providing uninterrupted quality power supply for the coming paddy season to all the agricultural consumers. He said with commissioning of this 220 KV substation,Gaunsgarh,power supply to 40 villages,including far-flung Boothgarh,Raur,Mangli,Tajpur,Gaunsgarh,Khuajke,Khassi,Kakka and Dhaula,would be improved.

Also,urban localities and heavy industrial consumers on Rahon Road,Ludhiana,would receive improved power supply. About 10,000 general consumers and 3,000 agricultural consumers would get direct benefit from this upgradation,he added.

Earlier,66 KV Substation,Gaunsgarh,was fed from 220 KV Substation,Dhandari Kalan-I,which was overloaded.
