Student rams Lamborghini into auto at Savitri flyover, 2 injured

The injured men have been identified as auto-driver Shah Alam and Prince Gautam (31), an engineer with an airline in Delhi.

Two men in an auto, including the driver, sustained severe injuries after a high-end SUV rammed into the vehicle at Savitri flyover in South Delhi’s CR Park.

Police said the accused, Rajveer Sardana (21), was returning from a party in Nehru Place with his friends in a Lamborghini Urus when the incident took place around 7 am. He was apprehended and later released. He is a student at a university in the UK and his family lives in Panchsheel Enclave.

The injured men have been identified as auto-driver Shah Alam and Prince Gautam (31), an engineer with an airline in Delhi. Gautam had boarded the auto to go to his office at IGI Airport.

DCP (South) Chandan Chowdhary said, “After we received information about the incident, staff reached the spot and found a Lamborghini car with a Haryana number plate. The injured persons had already been rushed to Max Hospital in Saket. The IO has taken their MLCs. The passenger (Gautam) is unfit for statement. The damaged vehicles have been seized.”

Police said Sardana and one of his friends were found at the spot. A case has been registered against Sardana under IPC sections 279 (rash driving), 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life) and 338 (causing grievous hurt by act endangering life).

The police are yet to conduct a medical examination of Sardana and his friends.

Gautam lives with his family in East of Kailash. Police said his family has been informed.
