Delhi Exit Poll Results 2025 Highlights: Axis My India, Chanakya project BJP victory in the national capital

Taking a dig at exit polls that have given an edge to the BJP in the Delhi Assembly polls, senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh on Thursday dismissed the projections, calling them "surveys by massage and spa companies".

"What can you expect from the exit poll surveys conducted by massage and spa companies? Wait for February 8 and the AAP will form the government with a decisive majority," Singh told PTI.

He claimed that people have endorsed the AAP's governance model, including its initiatives in education, electricity, water, and healthcare.

"The results will reflect the impact of our promises, including Rs 2,100 for women and the Sanjeevani Yojana for the elderly. Exit polls in the past have been proven wrong," he added.

Exit poll results, which started coming in soon after polling concluded at 6 pm on Wednesday, have largely predicted a BJP victory over the ruling AAP, while the Congress is expected to suffer yet another setback. (PTI)

Three exit polls on Thursday predicted a sweep for the BJP in the Delhi assembly elections with vote share in the range of 48-49 per cent and 45-61 seats in the 70-member House.

Axis My India, which got its numbers right in the 2020 Delhi elections, has given a 48 per cent vote share for the BJP-led alliance as against 42 per cent for the ruling AAP.

In terms of seats, the Axis My India has projected the BJP winning 45-55 seats, the AAP 15-25 seats and the Congress 0-1. It also shows others winning 0-1 seats.

Today's Chanakya has projected the BJP winning a 49 per cent vote share with 45-57 seats (51 with an error margin of six), while AAP may get 13-25 seats with 41 per cent vote share. Others are projected to get 0-3 seats.

CNX has predicted a landslide for the BJP with 49-61 seats and 49.05 per cent vote share, while it said the AAP could get 10-19 seats with 41.52 per cent vote share. The Congress could open its account in the assembly after a gap of 10 years with 0-1 seats and a vote share of 5.37 per cent.

The results of the February 5 elections will be announced on Saturday.

Soon after the voting was over on Wednesday, several exit polls had predicted a victory for the BJP, while two gave an edge to the AAP. (PTI)

The data showed that a major portion of voters aged 18-25 are likely to support the BJP, while a whopping 47% of voters in the 26-35 age group are likely to back the AAP in the Delhi Elections.

Pradeep Gupta's Axis My India shared the objectives and methodology before releasing their exit poll predictions.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh on Thursday alleged that the BJP had embarked on ‘Operation Lotus’ in Delhi and was bribing AAP leaders to jump ship so that it could form the incoming government in the national capital.

The BJP is yet to react to Singh’s allegations.

More than 1,090 cases of alleged violations of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) have been registered in Delhi, an official said on Thursday. The cases were lodged between January 7, when the MCC came into force, and February 5.

A total of 35,020 people have been arrested or detained under various provision of preventive action and other acts, according to a statement.

Delhi Police has recorded 1,098 cases of alleged MCC violations and confiscated 472 illegal firearms and 534 cartridges with 496 people arrested under the Arms Act, the statement said.

The police have also seized 1,14,699 litres of liquor and arrested 1,423 people, 206.712 kg of drugs worth over Rs 77.9 crore with more than 1,200 banned injections seized and arrested 179 people so far.

The law enforcement agencies have also seized Rs 11.70 crore in cash and 37.39 kg of silver, the statement added. (PTI)

AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj said on Thursday, "If the BJP is happy with exit polls, they should make their government based on exit polls - they should make the CM and some ministers. These exit polls have an age of just one day - then the real results will be announced Arvind Kejriwal will be the CM and AAP will form the government."

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Thursday said Delhi "belongs" to the Bharatiya Janata Party and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"Delhi belongs to the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi as people have faith in him and his work," Yadav told reporters when asked about exit polls predicting the saffron party dislodging the ruling AAP from power in the national capital. (PTI)

BJP candidate from Vishwas Nagar Assembly constituency, Om Prakash Sharma, slammed Arvind Kejriwal and said, "The battle is with Arvind Kejriwal. His history is filled with shameful deeds and lies. Whether it's the 'tukde tukde' gang, speaking the language of Pakistan, or going to jail in connection with the liquor scam, it is very difficult to predict his behaviour"

He added, "The exit polls are in favour of the BJP. Along with this, as a political worker, when we go to the field, we can sense that the BJP's chief minister will be elected in Delhi."

Madhya Pradesh BJP chief VD Sharma said, "Not only exit polls, but the actual poll will also fetch the same results... Arvind Kejriwal brought Delhi into a state of distress... The people of Delhi have blessed PM Modi to ensure development in the capital under the leadership of the Prime Minister... Only one day is left, everyone will know the actual results..."

Congress MP Pramod Tiwari on Thursday predicted exuded confidence over the results of the Delhi election 2025, saying that both AAP and BJP will lose the mandate.

"What the surveys (exit polls) are showing - we don't believe in them. We believe that Congress will do better. Congress will perform well as the mandate will be against both the parties (AAP & BJP ) as they didn't work on issues such as air pollution and Yamuna," he told ANI.

Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal, while speaking on Delhi elections outside the Parliament, said, "People of Delhi are well aware and I am fully confident that they have voted for people who can actually work for Delhi. We should wait for the exit polls, it may be right or wrong... I expect whoever comes to power to work for Delhi as it is in the worst state as of now..."

While majority of the exit polls for the Delhi assembly election predicting a sweeping victory for BJP, likely to get over 40 seats, some exit polls also predicted a completely opposite outcome of the high-stakes elections.

WeePreside exit poll said AAP could win 46-52 seats, BJP 18-23 seats and Congress 0-1 seat. Mind Brink also predicted a borderline majority for AAP in the national capital.

Congress' New Delhi candidate Sandeep Dikshit said, "As per the Exit Polls, the BJP may form the government, but I think they have underestimated the AAP. They have presented the AAP as very weak but don't think their condition would be so bad... I am also disappointed in the Exit polls...the Congress would have easily received 17-18% of the votes... Everything would be clear on February 8..."

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut said, "The final decision will be out on February 8. The Exit Polls said that MVA will win in Maharashtra and Congress will win in Haryana... We are sure that the BJP will not win in Delhi and the AAP will come to power..."

BJP MP Manoj Tiwari, after the exit poll results for Delhi election, said, "The exit polls I saw right now, I feel like our exact polls (results) are going to be better than exit polls...the reaction we saw among people, BJP is coming to power (in Delhi)...it is BJP's homecoming...I thank people of Delhi..."

The Election Commission of India said that Delhi recorded a voter turnout of 60.42 per cent in the high-stakes assembly elections on Wednesday.

As per the ECI data, among the eleven districts, North East recorded the highest voter turnout at 66.25 per cent, while South East had the lowest at 56.16 per cent.

AAP national spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar said after the Delhi election exit poll results, "Exit polls have always proven to be wrong for the AAP. We have always formed the government with a clear majority and this time will be no different... There are some exit polls which show us winning but I would like to tell everyone to wait for 8 February, Arvind Kejriwal will be forming the government with a huge majority..."

A scuffle broke out between BJP and AAP workers in the Sangam Vihar area on polling day in Delhi where both parties claimed that some of their workers were injured during the incident.

Sitting AAP MLA area of the constituency, Dinesh Mohaniya alleged an unprovoked attack from the BJP workers. While on the other side, the BJP candidate against him Chandan Kumar Choudhary alleged misbehaviour and threats from Mohaniya.

According to Delhi Police, no complaints have been received from either side so far. The facts are currently being verified to understand the cause of the dispute. Additionally, no MLC (Medico-Legal Case) has been received yet for any worker being injured.

BJP candidate Chandan Chaudhary accused AAP leader Dinesh Mohaniya of misbehaving with his wife when she was standing outside a polling station. Chaudhary further claimed that Mohaniya came to his office with 30-40 of his workers, threw stones, and attacked, resulting in injuries to seven of his workers.

On the other hand, AAP MLA Dinesh Mohaniya accused BJP workers of attacking him. He stated that when he was leaving Chandan Chaudhary's office on his bike, someone from the office threw a stick, hitting one of his workers on the head. When Mohaniya protested, BJP's 30-40 workers allegedly beat him up.

AAP leader Somnath Bharti said, "These are managed affair. What exit polls predicted in 2020, exactly opposite happened. I believe exit polls are not trustworthy, and whichever polls say that AAP won't form govt, there is managed affair there. We should wait, because the wave that I have seen on ground, it would be no surprise that it breaks its own record this time."

BJP candidate from Vikaspuri assembly constituency, Dr Pankaj Kumar says, "BJP is forming the government in Delhi. Kejriwal has ruined Delhi as there is a shortage of drinking water, and the roads are in poor condition. The public is deeply distressed. The people of Delhi are tired of Kejriwal's promises and will express their full anger."

On exit poll, Congress candidate from the New Delhi constituency, Sandeep Dikshit, says, "...Let's wait for the 8th of February... We fought well..."

Over exit polls on Delhi Assembly elections, AAP leader Sushil Gupta says," This is our fourth election, and every time exit polls did not show AAP making the govt in Delhi. Arvind Kejriwal has worked for the people of Delhi. We will see the results in favour of Aam Aadmi Party and we will form the government..."
