Atishi inspects 30 infra projects in Delhi, seeks monthly progress reports

PWD officials said that the work of the flyovers at Sarai Kale Khan T-junction, Punjabi Bagh, Apsara Border on Road Number-56 and the double-decker flyover in the north-east Delhi will be completed by the end of the year.

Delhi’s Public Works Department (PWD) minister Atishi Friday held a meeting with senior officials to review the ongoing 30 infrastructure projects, including the construction of flyovers and underpasses.

The minister directed the officials to set monthly targets for all ongoing flyover projects and complete them within the timeline and submit a monthly progress report to her.

The projects include the Sarai Kale Khan-T junction flyover, the doubling and expansion of the flyover from Punjabi Bagh to Raja Garden, a six-lane flyover between Anand Vihar and Apsara Border, a double-decker flyover at the Ghonda-Brijpuri junction, and the Mukarba Chowk underpass, among other important projects.

Atishi pointed out that the projects are extremely important for making traffic smooth and once completed they would benefit lakhs of commuters. “The PWD is working round the clock to ensure the completion of projects in the stipulated timeline. The Kejriwal government is the only government in the country that not only completes the work on time but also completes it at a lower cost, saving crores of rupees of the public,” Atishi said.

Meanwhile, PWD officials said that the work of the flyovers at Sarai Kale Khan T-junction, Punjabi Bagh, Apsara Border on Road Number-56 and the double-decker flyover in the north-east Delhi and two underpasses at Pragati Maidan and Mukarba Chowk will be completed by the end of the year.
