Even after 25 years of its release, the superhit song ‘Chhaiya Chhaiya’ from the 1998 film Dil Se by Mani Ratnam continues to be among the favourite songs of Bollywood film buffs, both in terms of musical and visual appeal. Most people who love the song are able to recall the dance steps that were performed by Shah Rukh Khan and Malaika Arora atop a moving train.
Now, a man from India has grooved to the iconic song on the London Underground and it has gone viral. “Chhaiya Chhaiya: London Edition” says a text insert on the video.
Dressed in white shirt and black trousers, the man is seen sitting in a Tube coach alongside other passengers. Wearing headphones, he suddenly gets up from his seat and starts performing the dance steps in the middle of the coach. He is also seen dancing at other locations, such as a platform, on an escalator, and outside a store.
What makes the video even more hilarious is the reaction of people watching him as they seem unbothered by his actions. And just as he began dancing so suddenly, he stopped dancing and then sat in the coach.
