An Instagram influencer found himself in legal trouble after a publicity stunt spiraled into chaos, disrupting traffic and endangering lives. The incident took place on Hyderabad’s Outer Ring Road (ORR), where the creator tossed Rs 20,000 in cash onto the roadside, urging followers to participate in a ‘money hunt’ challenge.

The stunt was captured in a viral video that begins with the influencer hyping the event and hiding cash in a bush. It ends with him being apprehended by the police. The reckless act caused significant inconvenience to commuters and raised serious safety concerns.

The Rachakonda Police, who acted swiftly, shared the details on X: “Irresponsible Instagram Content Creator Arrested. Recently, a viral video showed an individual throwing a Rs 20,000 bundle on the roadside of ORR and challenging viewers to a #MoneyHunt. This irresponsible act caused chaos and inconvenience and posed a significant threat to #RoadSafety.”

The police emphasised the importance of responsible content creation, warning against actions that put lives at risk and send harmful messages. “Use your social media platform wisely—create content responsibly,” they urged.

The stunt has drawn widespread criticism online, with many users calling for stricter action against such dangerous antics. One user tagged the police, writing, “He had provoked so many minor children into betting; please look into that as well.” Another commented, “Super sir, take strict actions on all online money game promoters.”
