Although the order came in September, it wasn’t till recently that internet users started facing the shutdown. Many popular porn sites have now been blocked on many networks, but it seemed that Jio users are the worst hit. They complained bitterly on Reddit and Twitter that they cannot access any adult websites any longer. While some thought the decision was archaic and criticised the government for the move, others took solace in humour. With #pornban, social media has been flooded with memes and GIFs, particularly with those taking a dig at Jio customers.
