Donald Trump, the 47th President of the United States of America, took the oath of office on January 20 in what has been described as a historic Inauguration Day. The 78-year-old leader’s swearing-in dominated social media, and now his granddaughter, Kai, is making headlines for sharing candid behind-the-scenes moments from the day.
Titled “My grandpa became the President again,” the 14-minute vlog garnered nearly two million views on YouTube. Kai began her day with hair and makeup for the prayer service. Dressed in a turtle-neck top and pants with an elegant blazer, Kai shared that she slept only for four hours and needed coffee to power through the day.
The vlog captures her light-hearted bond with her father, Donald Trump Jr. as they exchange “Chill Guy” jokes. At one point, after enjoying a chocolate cookie, Kai reveals her new celebrity crush—Chace Crawford––known for his role as Nate Archibald in Gossip Girl.

While filming of the official swearing-in was prohibited, the 17-year-old included a few clips in her vlog. After the ceremony, the family attended the inaugural parade at the Capital One Arena, where Trump acknowledged Kai, following which she stood and cheered for him.
For the inaugural ball in the evening, Kai opted for a silver beaded gown by Sherri Hill. She also shared her excitement for dancing with her father at the Liberty and Starlight Balls. She also opened up about her bond with Barron Trump, Trump’s youngest son. “Me, Barron, and Donny (her younger brother)! we used to play hide and go seek and soccer on the front lawn,” she said.
The long and eventful day ended with Kai returning to her hotel room at 1 AM, exhausted but thrilled by the experience.
