Amid a sudden onslaught of powerful winds, a man found himself struggling to control a sunshade umbrella, only to be swept away by the ferocious gusts. The incident, which occurred in Langfang, Hebei province, has gone viral on Instagram.
Shared by @theweatherchannel on Monday, the video shows the chaos that ensued as the winds picked up unexpectedly. Initially, a tent is seen being buffeted by the wind, with chairs sliding across the concrete in the background. However, it was the scene involving the man and his umbrella that truly captured the attention of viewers.
In the video, the man can be seen standing on the base of the patio umbrella in a futile attempt to anchor it against the wind. Despite his efforts, the force of the gale proves too strong, sending both him and the umbrella careening across the cement.
The footage quickly gained traction on Instagram with many viewers finding humour in the absurdity of the situation. Comments flooded in, with one user remarking, “Oh! I burst out laughing when I saw the guy come sailing by!! I’m bad!,” accompanied by laughing emojis.
A second user said, “Looks like he was sailing.” Yet another user commented, “And I thought it was funny when the chairs came in like zombies.” And a fourth added, “Legend says he’s still out there sailing around.”
The fate of the umbrella remains uncertain, but fortunately, the man emerged from the ordeal unscathed.
