A ‘unicorn puppy’ with an extra tail on its face is breaking the internet

Rochelle Steffen, who runs Mac’s Mission, sought donations after sharing a photo of the dog.

“This puppy has a TAIL COMING OUT OF HIS FOREHEAD and a foot injury of some sort. We are thankful this baby and his buddy are safe from the freezing cold. We definitely specialize in special,” she wrote.

The photos of the young dog went viral on social media, and there was an overwhelming response with multiple people seeking to adopt him.

Steffen now posts regular updates on Facebook and Instagram about the puppy – that has been named Narwhal – and also spoke about whether the tail would cause him any problems.

Steffen said that an x-ray had confirmed that there was no need for any medical intervention at the moment.

“The extra tail is not connected to anything and has no real use other than making him the COOLEST PUPPY EVER!” said one Facebook post.

“Dr. Heuring said there is no real reason at this time for the unicorn tail to be removed (and we all wish it wagged)!! Pretty sure the staff at Cape Small also gushed all over this little nugget! The unicorn face tail does not bother Narwhal and he never slows down just like any normal puppy. He seems completely healthy other than some usual puppy worms he got meds for,” the post said.

The organisation also said it wasn’t putting up the puppy for adoption just yet and explained why.

“He is not available for adoption immediately as we want him to grow a bit more and truly make sure the tail doesn’t become a bother or problem,” Steffen wrote.

On social media, there have been plenty of posts and comments about Narwhal, and multiple people said they can’t wait to try and adopt him.
