The Oval Office is typically a place for serious discussions, major policy decisions, and high-stakes meetings. But during a recent gathering, the spotlight unexpectedly shifted to Elon Musk’s four-year-old son, Lil X.

Musk, who now heads the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), was at the White House on Tuesday, February 11, alongside President Donald Trump—the 47th President of the United States of America. While Musk and Trump tackled tough policy questions, Lil X had an entirely different agenda.

Completely unfazed by the gravity of the discussion, the toddler stole the show with his antics. Social media was quickly flooded with photos and videos of him wandering around the Oval Office, playing with his father, and even climbing onto Musk’s shoulders as he spoke. At one point, he was seen exploring Trump’s desk.

While some social media users found the contrast between the serious topic and the child’s carefree energy hilarious, others couldn’t get over how effortlessly Lil X became the star of the conference.

A user shared a side by side picture of JFK along with his son John Jr. at the Oval office and another picture of Trump.

Another user shared a photo of Trump with Musk’s son and wrote, “Trump babysitting Elon’s kid while Musk holds court with the press in the Oval Office.”

Another X user wrote, “President @realDonaldTrump, @elonmusk, and X take questions from the press in the Oval Office.”

Lil X was even caught picking his nose in the Oval Office.

Musk visited the White House for the signing of an executive order aimed at significantly reducing the size of the federal workforce. According to the Associated Press, government agencies will now have to develop strategies for major staff cuts, including identifying departments that could be merged or shut down if they aren’t legally essential.

The order also enforces a strict hiring rule: for every four federal employees who leave, only one new hire can be made. However, exceptions will apply to roles in immigration, law enforcement, and public safety.
