Celebrities on social media often put up pictures drawn or letters written by their fans, and as is the common practice, express gratitude. Hillary Clinton, the former first lady of the United States, was in for a similar surprise when Pete Davidson, actor and member of Saturday Night Live, put up a picture of the “christmas gift” he wanted to give to the American politician. On December 16, Davidson put up a picture of this gift on Instagram — tattoo of her on his forearm. “Wanted to get @hillaryclinton a Christmas gift so I got a tattoo of my hero. Thanks for being such a badass and one of the strongest people in the universe,” Davidson wrote.
While the ‘gift’ did get a lot of appreciation from other users, it is Clinton’s hilarious response to it that has won over the people on the Internet. While writing that she is honoured, Clinton also wrote, “Thanks, @petedavidson, This makes it significantly less awkward that I’ve had a Pete Davidson tattoo for years,” she wrote. “But seriously, I’m honored. Merry Christmas my friend.”
People on social media are loving Clinton’s response. While one user wrote, “Nothing better than a powerful world leader with a relatable sense of humor. Well done,” another wrote, “Well played @HillaryClinton. Well played.”
This is the picture Davidson posted on Instagram.
And this is how Clinton responded.
Clinton’s answer won several hearts.
