It is evident now that global warming and climate change are affecting changes in the weather patterns all over the world and various natural phenomena have changed drastically over the years. A British climber who has reached the peak of Mount Everest a whopping 17 times has warned of a declining amount of snow on the world’s highest mountain.

Kenton Cool, 49, summited Mount Everest for the 17th time on May 20, a record for the most ever by a foreign-born climber. The British climber said the Himalayan mountain is exhibiting less snow than ever – and wonders whether it could be “global warming and environmental change”.

Instagram page Now This News (@nowthisnews) shared a video of Cool from the peak of Mount Everest in 2021 when he successfully climbed for the 15th time. “Getting it done on the roof of the world,” he says in the video.

“If you go back to the early mid-2000s there used to be a lot of snow. There’s a general trend for the mountain to be more rocky and less snow. But it changes year on year. It could be any reason, I mean, it could be global warming, environmental change,” he is quoted as saying in the video.

“Being able to do that 17 times let alone once is privilege at its finest,” commented a user. “17 times is craaazy. Mt Everest is no joke, you’ve gotta be built different to climb that ONCE. They literally use dead bodies as landmarks because it’s too dangerous to try to bring the bodies back down,” said another. “I wish a meteor would just hit our planet and kill us all so I wouldn’t have to sit and watch people not believe in basically environmental science and believe people owned by oil companies,” expressed another netizen.
