Like all mothers, Dr Madhu Chopra is proud of her daughter Priyanka Chopra’s achievements and her efforts to take care of her skin. In a recent chat, the cosmetologist opened up about Priyanka’s skincare routine.

“Priyanka has great skin. She hydrates herself a lot. This I know. She keeps her skin clear. She doesn’t keep makeup for a long time. She lets the skin breathe. She doesn’t use makeup if not required,” she told Pinkvilla.

She also recalled meeting Priyanka when she visited India recently for her brother Siddharth’s wedding. She expressed, “I met her recently at the wedding, where I saw how she has maintained. Waah. Itna translucent skin (such translucent skin). She has maintained her weight. She works hard on herself.”

Taking a cue, let’s understand the basics to great skin.

Experts urge that diet is crucial in achieving and maintaining healthy skin. This starts with hydration.

According to Dr Rinky Kapoor, consultant dermatologist, cosmetic dermatologist and dermato-surgeon, The Esthetic Clinics, a diet rich in antioxidants found in fruits and vegetables, can protect the skin from oxidative stress and promote a youthful appearance. “Omega-3 fatty acids, present in fish and flaxseeds, have anti-inflammatory properties beneficial for skin health,” shared Dr Kapoor.

Reducing processed foods and sugar intake is advised, as these can contribute to inflammation and skin issues. “Dermatologists often recommend incorporating foods with high collagen content or taking collagen supplements to promote skin elasticity and firmness,” added Dr Kapoor.
