After making his audiences’ skin crawl by playing the character of a serial killer in Amazon Prime’s Dahaad, Vijay Varma is back with another web series, Kaalkoot. However, in his new show, Vijay will be seen chasing criminals instead of playing one. The teaser of Kaalkoot was released today.
The short 55-second teaser shows Vijay Varma in the role of a police officer, who is three months into his profession. He has an overbearing boss, played by Gopal Datt, who doesn’t miss a chance to berate him. While his time in the police station is marred by his boss, Vijay’s personal life is equally tumultuous. His desperate mother persistently shows him pictures of potential brides, and he receives frequent calls from matrimonial sites inquiring about his relationship status.
However, the story takes a dark turn when one of the girls his mother suggested becomes the victim of a brutal acid attack. Vijay’s character is then tasked with finding the perpetrator of this heinous crime, leading to a gripping and intense investigation.

The show is directed by Sumit Saxena, who has written films like Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer Doctor G, Rasika Dugal’s Hamid and Kartik Aaryan’s Pyaar Ka Punchnama. The show also stars Mirzapur actress Shweta Tripathi in a lead role. Seema Biswas, Yashpal Sharma and Gopal Datt are seen in pivotal roles. The show will stream on Jio Cinema on July 27.
