After a long wait, Panchayat Season 3 was released on Amazon Prime Video this week. Fans are also eagerly anticipating the highly anticipated sequel, Mirzapur Season 3. Recently, Ali Fazal, who plays Guddu Pandit in Mirzapur, linked Mirzapur Season 3 with Panchayat’s new season and dropped some hints about his show’s upcoming release.
A fan tagged Ali and asked if he should skip Panchayat 3 as he is awaiting the release of Mirzapur Season 3. The fan wrote, “Panchaayat nahi dekhunga toh chalega kya (Is it ok if I skip Panchayat 3)? Waiting for Mirzapur actually @alifazal9 (muscle and heart emojis).” Replying to the fan, Ali wrote, “Watch Panchayat, it has a big hidden clue for Mirzapur Season 3 #msw3 @PrimeVideoIN.” The fan replied, “Ok. Done. Tonight (laughing and thumbs up emojis).”
Earlier, Amazon Prime Video released some new footage of Mirzapur Season 3. In the video, Pankaj Tripathi’s Kaleen Bhaiya asks, “Bhool toh nahi gaye humein? (Did you forget us?)” It also shows Ali Fazal, Rasika Dugal, Vijay Varma, Shweta Tripathi, and Isha Talwar, among others. Mirzapur first premiered in 2018, followed by a second season in 2020. The third season has been in the works since then.
Panchayat portrays village life through the perspective of an engineering graduate who takes up the role of a panchayat secretary due to limited job prospects. Season 3 was released on May 28. It stars Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Jitendra Kumar, Chandan Roy, and Faisal Malik in the lead roles.
