Ravi Teja’s Eagle and Sandeep Kishan’s Ooru Peru Bhairavakona are set to clash at the box office on February 9, which has led to a controversy as the former was promised a solo release by producers. Now, when asked about clashing with Ravi Teja, Sandeep Kishan said that he wasn’t informed about the solo release promise that was made to the makers of Eagle.
At a recent Ooru Peru Bhairavakona event, Sandeep was asked why he was clashing with Ravi when producer Dil Raju had promised the actor that Eagle would get a solo release. Sandeep replied, “Honestly, I wanted my film to be released on Sankranthi too. But there were many releases and our film has horror, magic, and fantasy… so we thought it wouldn’t be the right time and wanted to move forward. We even called and confirmed with the Till Square team that they are not coming with the film on the same date, and then only we announced the release date (February 9). About Ravi Teja Garu’s film… I am a huge fan of his, but no one mentioned that (promise) to us. For us, this date is very important as a lot of things are at stake. If they contact, then we will have a discussion about the date.”
Earlier, Eagle was supposed to be released on Sankranthi with films like Hanu Man, Guntru Kaaram, and Naa Saami Ranga. But the producers came together and arrived at an agreement that the release of Ravi Teja’s film will be postponed. Producer Dil Raju said that Eagle will have a solo release on February 9 and added that Tillu Square and Yatra 2 makers will also be asked to shift their release date for the betterment of the Telugu film industry.
Now, it looks like the promise made to Ravi Teja will not be kept as Sandeep Kishan has not said that he is ready to change the release date. In February, Eagle might take on Ooru Peru Bhairavakona.
Eagle, directed by Karthik Gattamneni, is an action thriller about a retired assassin. Anupam Paramesawaran, Navdeep, Vinay Rai, and Kavya Thappar play important roles in the film. On the other hand, Ooru Peru Bhairavakona is a horror film with Sandeep Kishan and Varsha Bollamma in lead roles.
