Bigg Boss 19 Weekend Ka Vaar: Salman Khan hosted the final Weekend Ka Vaar episode of Bigg Boss Season 19 on Saturday, and it turned out to be an emotionally charged one. Reflecting on the passing of legendary actor Dharmendra, Salman expressed that he wished he hadn’t had to host the show this weekend.
An emotional Salman spoke about Dharmendra’s demise and said, “This week has passed with making wishes, praying. Tears have been shed, and the nation and fans were left with a huge shock. The industry suffered a huge loss and grief. You must have understood who I am talking about. Anyway, God bless his soul! I wish I wasn’t hosting this Weekend Ka Vaar, but life goes on.”
Dharmendra passed away on November 24 due to age-related ailments. Many from the industry were emotional as they arrived at the crematorium to pay their final respects to the ‘He-Man’ of Bollywood.
Dharmendra’s prayer meetings were held on Friday. While the actor’s sons, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, celebrated his life at the prayer meet in Bandra’s Taj Lands End, Dharmendra’s wife, Hema Malini, held another prayer meet at her home where Gita Paaths and Bhajans were recited for the late actor. So far, Dharmendra’s children have not issued any statement about the demise; however, Hema penned an emotional note on X earlier this week.
She wrote, “Dharam ji…He was many things to me. Loving Husband, adoring Father of our two girls, Esha & Ahaana, Friend, Philosopher, Guide, Poet, my ‘go to’ person in all times of need – in fact, he was everything to me! And always has been through good times and bad. He endeared himself to all my family members with his easy, friendly ways, always showing affection and interest in all of them. As a public personality, his talent, his humility in spite of his popularity, and his universal appeal set him apart as a unique icon unequalled among all the legends. His enduring fame and achievements in the film industry will last forever. My personal loss is indescribable, and the vacuum created is something that will last through the rest of my life. After years of togetherness, I am left with myriad memories to relive the many special moments…”
Dharmendra’s last film, Ikkis, will release in theatres on December 25, 2025.
