Actor Ratan Raajputh, who first gained fame with television shows like Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo and Radha Ki Betiyaan, recently opened up about her experience with casting couch where a casting co-ordinator spiked her drink and wanted to take advantage of her in a drugged state. Ratan recalled that this incident happened during her early days in the industry when she went to audition for a popular director.

In a chat with Aaj Tak, Ratan recalled that it wasn’t who taped her audition but a “low level casting co-ordinator” who kept building her up and said that she would definitely get finalised. After her audition, he gave her a script and took her to a restaurant and said that they would call her for the second round shortly. While they were at the restaurant, Ratan was accompanied by a friend when the man kept insisting her to take a sip of the cold drink and Ratan was forced to take a sip.

Upon reaching home, Ratan felt a little dizzy but wasn’t sure if her drink was spiked. “Me and my friend reached home then and I started doubting if there was something mixed in the cold drink. I was feeling a bit dizzy. After 40 minutes, I got a call to come in for another audition. The script was utter trash. Many people would tell me why didn’t you say no but that time, you start doubting yourself that you are leaving an opportunity,” she shared.

Ratan, with two of her friends, went to the location of the audition where they instantly knew that something was off. “It was a very weird place. I entered the place and saw that the whole place was a mess, the lighting was bad, there were clothes thrown around everywhere. I saw a girl there lying unconscious. I could sense that whatever had to happen was already done there,” she recalled.

The man started screaming at her that she was there with other people and in that moment she just said sorry and got out of there as fast as she could. She said that if she met that director today, who is still famous, she would hit that man. “I want to slap that person who did this to me. He is still a big name in the industry. They should do this to people who are willing but not trap new kids,” she concluded.
