Stars from the entertainment industry sashayed down the ramp in a glittering fashion show, which was dedicated to the victims of 26/11 attacks. Forty celebrities including director Abhishek Kapoor, actors Manish Paul, Gautan Rode, Nia Sharma, Ravi Dubey and Gaurva Gera walked for designer Archana Kochhar. The show was a part of the Global Peace Initiative by an institute.
The stars walked with kids from an NGO. “It is an honour to participate in an initiative like this. As actors, this is the least we can do for our country. It is our way of expressing gratitude to the Army,” Gautam told indianexpress.com. The Saraswatichandra actor looked dapper in a grey blazer, worn over a white tee and black pants.
Actor Adaa Khan, who was the showstopper, said that actors are so busy with their work commitments that they hardly get to contribute to the society in a personal way and hence this initiative is an opportunity for them to be promoters of peace. “I was so happy walking the ramp with the little kid because we don’t get such events every day and the way things are in the country and around the world, I feel there should be more peace talks. People should live and let live. I am privileged to be here,” she said.
Adaa looked stunning in a gold and ivory evening gown. Gaurav walked the ramp twice in the avatars of his hit characters– Chutki and Shopkeeper. Actor Jay Soni, who wore a blue kurta and pyjama, said it is the responsibility of artistes to support such causes.
“Actors get all the benefits. They are famous and people look up to them. So, whenever we get a chance to show support for something like this, we should come forward. It is our responsibility, in fact our duty to promote such events,” he said.
