Sivakarthikeyan is currently busy promoting his upcoming film Maaveeran, which is set to be released in theatres this Friday. Amidst his busy schedule, the actor made it a point to celebrate the second birthday of his son Gugan. The Tamil star took to Instagram to share a few pictures with his wife and two children.
Wishing his son, Siva wrote, “Happy birthday da Thambi (brother).” Actor Sibi Sathyaraj commented on the post, “Happy birthday Kutti (Mini) Maaveeran.”
However, the pictures must have been taken earlier as Siva has gone through an image makeover for his upcoming film. The actor has been wearing a stocking cap in public to not unveil his new look.
Sivakarthikeyan keeps sharing his family moments on Instagram. Earlier, he shared a picture of Gugan walking in style, and Siva captioned it with a line from his idol Rajinikanth’s song “Nee nadandhal nadai azhagu”. The picture became a hit among his fans.
While Siva earlier compared his son with the Superstar, his Maaveeran co-stars Saritha and Mysskin are comparing Siva with Rajinikanth. Speaking to The Indian Express, Siva opened up about the same. He said, “Saritha mam has worked with Rajini sir in Netrikkan (1981) and she found my energy and hairstyle similar to that of Rajini sir back then. She didn’t mean I am Rajini sir. Similarly, Mysskin sir was comparing my humility to his (Rajinikanth) and said I am as modest as Rajini sir. There’s nothing more to it.”
The trailer of Maaveeran, which has built up a lot of suspense about the plot, has set high expectations for the film in Tamil and Telugu states. Directed by National-award-winning filmmaker Madonne Ashwin, Maaveeran has Siva playing the role of a comic artist named Sathya. Shankar’s daughter Aditi is playing the female lead in the fantasy film.
Meanwhile, Sivakarthikeyan has already completed a schedule for his upcoming film with Rajkumar Periasamy, which is produced by Kamal Haasan. The film is tentatively titled SK21.
