In September 2024, actor Ravi Mohan announced his separation from his wife, Aarti. Addressing the end of their marriage on social media, Ravi stated that the decision was made after careful consideration. Since then, both Ravi and Aarti have issued multiple statements, accusing each other of physical and emotional abuse. Aarti also alleged that Ravi was an absentee father.

In response to the allegations, Ravi issued a new statement denying the claims and went on to make serious accusations against his ex-mother-in-law, producer Sujatha Vijayakumar. Now, breaking her silence, Sujatha has addressed the accusations, firmly denying that she ever used Ravi’s name for financial gain.

She said in the statement, “I have been working as a producer for the last 25 years. Being a woman in this industry for such a long tenure requires tremendous effort – something I believe everyone will agree with. Throughout this journey, I have never interacted with the press, except during my movie releases. Today, I am compelled to speak publicly for the first time in response to the serious allegations made against me. I have been accused of being a tormentor, a family breaker, a gold digger, a property exploiter, and much more. I wanted to respond sooner, but I chose silence out of self-respect and for the greater good of my family and future generations. Unfortunately, that silence has now been misconstrued as manipulation. With the peace of our family at risk, I have decided it is time to speak.”

Revealing that she borrowed Rs 100 crore from financiers to produce films for Jayam Ravi, Sujatha shared, “Across the three films I produced starring Mr. Jayam Ravi – Adangamaru, Bhoomi, and Siren – I had to borrow nearly 100 crores from financiers. Twenty-five percent of that amount went directly toward his salary and applicable taxes, with all transactions duly recorded and documented. Now, Mr. Jayam Ravi alleges that I used his name as surety for these financial dealings. I want to make it clear – I would never misuse his name, not even if he were just an actor. Being my son-in-law, how could I ever jeopardize his future like that? In fact, to protect him, I signed countless documents myself -sometimes on blank sheets handed over by financiers, sometimes without knowing what came next – all to ensure that his name was never burdened.”

While addressing her efforts to resolve the family’s issues, Sujatha also denied claims that she had used Ravi Mohan’s signature as surety for any loans. She urged the media not to pass judgment, emphasizing that she is going through one of the most difficult phases of her life.

In a statement released two days ago, Ravi Mohan accused his ex-wife Aarti of preventing him from meeting his parents. He also shared that all communication with his children has been cut off. The actor concluded by stating that he is very happy with his decision to walk away from the marriage.
