Actor Ravi Mohan made the news recently when he released a statement on social media about the state of his marriage and accused ex-wife Aarti Ravi of being “abusive and controlling”. Aarti finally responded to allegations and released a statement of her own on social media and has blamed Ravi and the presence of a third person in their relationship for their failed marriage. In his statement, Ravi Mohan, known popularly as Jayam Ravi, had also acknowledged his relationship with Keneeshaa Francis, calling her his ‘lifeline’.
Aarti’s statement shared on Instagram started with, “There is little space for those who choose dignity over drama. Recent manipulations leave me no choice but to speak one last time.” Aarti then proceeded to break down the allegations levelled against her and claimed that Ravi was involved in habits that risked the stability of their household. “If caring for my husband and protecting him from habits and patterns that threatened the stability of our home makes me controlling, so be it.” She added that until the very last day, she was made to believe that her marriage was like any other in the world, which has its moments of “disagreements and occasional struggles”.
In his own statement, Ravi Mohan had talked about being thrown out of his home barefoot and in a night suit, without access to his wallet, cars or documents. Aarti responded to this statement and wrote, “The truth? He left in branded sneakers, fully clothed, with access to his wallet and Range – along with every possession he wished to take. He wasn’t exiled. He exited – calmly, consciously, and with a plan.”
Ravi Mohan had mentioned that actor-singer Keneeshaa Francis was an immense support during this battle, and Francis is the ‘third person’ who Aarti blames for all that has transpired. She said, “If he had truly escaped my “clutches,” I only wish he had gone directly to his alleged “estranged” parents’ home. Instead, he knocked on a door that only caused more damage. Let us not confuse a rescue mission with a rendezvous disguised as righteousness.” Mohan had previously said in his statement that he wasn’t allowed to meet his parents on many occasions.
“The truth needs to be said – once and for all. Money, power, interference, or control—none of these are why our marriage suffers. There is a third person in our marriage. What broke us wasn’t something between us—it was someone outside. The ‘light of your life’ brought only darkness into ours. That’s the truth. This person was already in the picture—long before any divorce papers were filed. This isn’t guesswork. I have proof,” she added.
The plot thickened as Aarti claimed in her statement that their kids have only agreed to meet with Ravi Mohan in familiar places such as “paternal grandparents’ home or our office”. She added that “being pressured to meet at his current residence – shared with someone who stole their peace – has only pushed them further away.”
Both Mohan and Aarti have now drawn blood from the opposing party, and while the court of public opinion has made its own assumptions, it’s still unclear what exactly happened in this relationship and whether anyone is telling the complete truth.
