Dhanush turns emotional as child actor’s mother delivers tribute at Idli Kadai pre-release event, watch

Dhanush was visibly moved at the Idli Kadai pre-release event.

The pre-release event of Dhanush’s Idli Kadai took place in Madurai with the cast and crew in attendance. However, what truly caught attention was an emotional moment during the event that has since gone viral on social media.

At the event, Dhanush was moved by an emotional speech delivered by the mother of the child actor who portrays his younger self in Idli Kadai. “Greetings, everyone. I am overjoyed today that Dhanush sir chose my child to act in his film. But more importantly, I’ve been fond of Dhanush for a long time now. I have been praying for a long time for something like this. When he asked my son to act in the film, I felt such joy. Thank you so much,” said the mother, which made the actor-filmmaker tear up in the moment.

Idli Kadai actor Arun Vijay also heaped praise on Dhanush. During the event, he said, “It was only when he was a director, that I noticed several things about him. Above all things, he is a fine human being. He keeps everybody around him happy. That was how he kept the entire unit comfortable.”

Arun added, “After finishing shoot, while we were travelling back, Dhanush would suddenly ask, ‘Shall we stop and eat at this roadside shop brother?’. We would eat at roadside shops and resume. Then, we would travel to our shooting spots on bikes and shoot. All that I cannot forget. He is a very down to earth person. He is very true to himself. That is the reason why he has such loyal fans.”

Idli Kadai, also starring Nithya Menon, Raj Kiran, Arun Vijay, and Sathyaraj in pivotal roles, is the story of a star chef who returns to his village to run his father’s idli shop after many years. Directed by Dhanush, the film features music by G. V. Prakash Kumar and cinematography by Kiran Kaushik. Idli Kadai is slated to release in theatres on October 1.
