Legendary singer Usha Uthup recently surprised everyone as she set the stage on fire with a soulful rendition of Miley Cyrus’ Grammy Award-winning track “Flowers”. Usha, who donned a saree, bindi and jasmine flowers in her hair, crooned the song during an event at Kolkata’s Trincas restaurant.

An Instagram user shared the video of her performance and wrote, “She wears flowers in her hair and sings flowers by @mileycyrus. Never thought I’d get to witness this. And yes this is an Usha Uthup fan page now! Deal with it.” Another user commented, “She actually ate and left no crumbs. crumbs left the building all together. she is and always will be the truest Diva.”

Usha Uthup, known for her extensive career in Indian music spanning five decades, has crooned songs for films in various languages. In 2023, she received the Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian award for her exceptional contributions to the arts.

Miley Cyrus achieved a career milestone at the 2024 Grammys when her song “Flowers” from the 2023 album Endless Summer Vacation was named Record of the Year. The track triumphed over songs from artistes like Billie Eilish, Doja Cat, Olivia Rodrigo, and Taylor Swift.

The singer said at the awards ceremony, “This award is amazing. But I really hope that it doesn’t change anything because my life was beautiful yesterday. Not everyone in the world will get a Grammy, but everyone in this world is spectacular.”
