After landslides wreaked havoc in Kerala’s Wayanad district on July 31, with the death toll reaching 219 and 206 people still missing, many South Indian celebrities have come forward to donate to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to aid rescue operations and help those in dire need.

Allu Arjun recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce a Rs 25 lakh donation to support the rehabilitation of the people of Wayanad. He wrote, “I am deeply saddened by the recent landslide in Wayanad. Kerala has always given me so much love, and I want to do my bit by donating ₹25 lakh to the Kerala CM Relief Fund to support the rehabilitation work. Praying for your safety and strength. @CMOKerala.”

Father-son duo Chiranjeevi Konidela and Ram Charan announced the donation of Rs 1 crore. Chiranjeevi took to X and wrote, “Deeply distressed by the devastation and loss of hundreds of precious lives in Kerala due to nature’s fury in the last few days. My heart goes out to the victims of the Wayanad tragedy. Charan and I together are contributing Rs 1 Crore to the Kerala CM Relief Fund as a token of our support to the victims. My prayers for the recovery of all those in pain! 🙏 @CMOKerala #WayanadLandslide @AlwaysRamCharan.”

Nayanthara and her husband Vignesh Shivan also announced a donation of Rs 20 lakh to the Wayanad landslide victims. In their statement, the star couple wrote, “In the wake of the tragic landslide in Wayanad, our hearts go out to the affected families and communities. The devastation and loss experienced by the community are gut-wrenching. In these times of great need, we are reminded of the importance of coming together to support one another.”

The post further read, “As a gesture of solidarity, we are making a humble contribution of Rs 20,00,000 (Rupees Twently Lakhs Only) to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to provide the much-needed immediate assistance to the affected families and aid in the rebuilding process.”

Tovino Thomas has donated Rs 25 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. He took to Instagram to share a video, offering his condolences for the devastating natural calamity and raising concerns about the use of plastic plates at the relief camps.

Union Minister and actor Suresh Gopi recently visited the affected area and shared photos from the tragedy-hit district on X. He expressed sorrow and wrote, “My heart aches for the people of Wayanad who are facing unimaginable tragedies. The recent landslides have claimed innocent lives, including children, and left many more missing. The heavy rains have turned our beautiful Wayanad into a scene of devastation, with hundreds still feared trapped. Our brave rescue teams are doing everything in their power to save lives despite the harsh conditions. In these trying times, let us come together to support the affected families and communities. Let us also urge the authorities to expedite the process in addressing the underlying issues causing these tragedies. Together, we can rebuild and ensure a safer, more secure future for Wayanad.”
