Hridayapoorvam trailer: Sathyan Anthikad’s dramedy could extend Mohanlal’s blockbuster streak this year

Hridayapoorvam marks Mohanlal’s first on-screen collaboration with younger actors like Malavika Mohanan and Sangeeth Prathap. The film will also feature veteran actress Sangita in a pivotal role.

Talking about Hridayapoorvam in a recent interview, Mohanlal said, “We don’t have artistes anymore who could pull off films like the ones we made back in the day. Sathyan sir was able to think in a new direction, even with respect to the cameraman and music director. He brought in new blood for the film. Usually, we shoot our films in Kerala only, but this time he placed the story in Pune.”

He added, “The premise he has chosen for this movie (Hridayapoorvam) is very different. By all means, Sathyan sir has managed to reach a new space with this film. No one would be gutsy enough to take on such a story these days. The emotions in this film will be very different. It is a feel-good film and brings happiness in the season of Onam.”

Hridayapoorvam is being bankrolled by Anthony Perumbavoor for Aashirvad Cinemas. The movie is Mohanlal’s third release of the year, after two back-to-back industry-defining blockbusters in L2 Empuraan and Thudarum. It will hit theatres around the world on August 28.
