Leonardo DiCaprio had a night out in Ibiza that turned into an embarrassing moment for him. Usually disguised, this time the Titanic star stepped out unmasked, and the authorities failed to recognise him. The Spanish police mistook him for a local attending a booze party. According to a report by the Daily Mail, the actor and his friends were stopped outside the party for a routine check.
The 50-year-old actor often tries to keep a low profile by covering his face whenever he steps out in public, but this time he went without a mask while heading to a tequila party. He wore an all black outfit, topped up with his signature baseball cap and a a gold chain. Photos acquired by the outlet show Leonardo quietly scrolling through his phone while waiting to be searched. In the background of the video, a woman’s voice said, “They are searching me full-on right now.” It’s not clear if this woman was DiCaprio’s girlfriend. The actor has been publicly dating 27-year-old Italian model Vittoria Ceretti, who accompanied him during his trip to Ibiza.
A source told Page Six that the police didn’t give Leonardo special treatment. “Every single person was patted down and ID’d,” the eyewitness said, adding that apart from the Aviator star, there were many other famous personalities present at the party, which is probably why the police didn’t realise at first who Leonardo DiCaprio was. The source added, “It’s funny. They did a double take and then let him in!” The party was a private event held at a villa, hosted by Patrón tequila and Spanish actor-singer Aron Piper. Some celebrities like rapper Travis Scott were reportedly denied entry, but others, including Kendall Jenner and Tobey Maguire, got in without any trouble.
The Hollywood A-lister and his girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti have been rumoured to be dating since 2023. Their rare appearances and the age difference often attract paparazzi’s attention; however, the couple has remained tight-lipped about their relationship timeline. Ceretti recently said she dislikes being known just as “Leonardo DiCaprio’s girlfriend.” She told Vogue France that when you date someone famous, people only see you as “so-and-so’s girlfriend,” which can be annoying. “So it’s not nice to think that you can’t love whoever you want, because of the labels people need to stick on you.”
On the work front, the actor is gearing up for the release of the highly anticipated One Battle After Another. Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, not much is known about the movie’s plot. The film also stars Sean Penn, Benicio del Toro, Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor, and Chase Infiniti. Some rumours suggest that the movie is going to be “an adaptation of Thomas Pynchon’s novel Vineland.” Apart from that, the actor is also considering the offer for Damien Chazelle’s new Evel Knievel biopic. The story focuses on the American stunt performer’s famous Snake River Canyon jump in 1974. There have also been reports of the actor joining hands with Dwayne Johnson and Oscar-nominee Emily Blunt in Martin Scorsese’s new project.
