War 2 Movie Official Teaser Out: Fans have been waiting with bated breath for the biggest cinematic clash of the year starring Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr — Ayan Mukerji’s War 2. On Tuesday, the makers finally unveiled the much-anticipated War 2 teaser on the ocassion of NTR Jr’s birthday. While Hrithik reprises his role as RAW agent Major Kabir Dhaliwal, NTR plays the protagonist — marking his highly anticipated debut in Hindi cinema.
The teaser begins with NTR Jr’s voiceover, as he expresses his eagerness to meet Hrithik Roshan’s Kabir, whom he calls “India’s best soldier and RAW’s best agent.” However, he adds that while he has been closely watching Kabir’s every move, Kabir remains unaware of his existence. In a chilling declaration, Jr NTR warns, “You don’t know me, but you will soon know me,” hinting at the explosive confrontation ahead. The teaser then showcases high-octane battle sequences between Jr NTR and Hrithik, unfolding across breathtaking international locations. A brief glimpse of a bikini-clad Kiara Advani also teases a romantic subplot between her character and Hrithik’s Kabir. The teaser ends with Jr NTR decalaring, “Get ready for War”
Hrithik shared War 2 teaser on twitter and welcomed NTR Jr to the team in his own style. He wrote, “And so it begins, @tarak9999 . Be prepared, there is no place for mercy. Welcome to Hell. Love, Kabir. #War2Teaser out NOW. #War2 only in theatres from 14th August. Releasing in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil. @advani_kiara #AyanMukerji @yrf #YRFSpyUniverse.”
War 2 is the sixth installment in Yash Raj Films’ Spy Universe, following Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, and Tiger 3. The franchise will also expand further with the upcoming Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari.
The 2019 film War, directed by Siddharth Anand and co-starring Tiger Shroff, was a box office blockbuster. Promising to outdo its predecessor, War 2 is touted as a bigger and better sequel. Its action sequences were filmed across six countries — Italy, Spain, Japan, Abu Dhabi, Russia, and Mumbai. There has been speculation if we will see other stars from the YRF spy universe making cameo appearances. However, the makers have been tightlipped about it.
With NTR Jr on board, the makers aim to appeal to a pan-India audience. The film also stars Kiara Advani as the female lead and is slated for release on August 14, 2025, just ahead of Independence Day.
Earlier, NTR Jr opened up about his experience working with director Ayan Mukerji. The actor revealed they had creative differences, primarily due to their contrasting working styles. He said, “When I was shooting for War 2, Ayan did not know what was going to come. Because he was trying to bring it out from me — that’s how this was going to come out. I told him, ‘Ayan, I am very instinctive; kuch na kuch aa jayega (something will come).’ Now, he is not used to doing this at all; he loves prep, and I am completely the opposite. And then Adi sir was there in between, who said, ‘It’s ok, it’s ok, I get it.’”
