Vicky Kaushal gently corrects journalist, says Katrina Kaif is ‘still’ bigger star between the two: ‘Not ego, but being in sync with reality’

Actor Vicky Kaushal, often dubbed by netizens as a ‘green flag’ husband, has yet again won hearts with his insights on his actor wife Katrina Kaif. Vicky said Katrina continues to be a bigger star between the two of them and added that he is in love with her because “she has got the heart of a superstar.”

In an interview with BBC Asian Network, Vicky was asked about how he and Katrina are often called a “power couple” and what does the Bad Newz actor make of them being looked at also as a commodity.

“For me, Katrina is my reality check. She is always there to tell me, ‘This could be better, that could be better,'” Vicky said as he spoke about his actor-wife, with whom he tied the knot in 2021.

He added, “It is nice to have that person who is just going to be honest with you and not let you fly around. She is a superstar who has seen so many highs and lows. She has made her way through with her talent, grit and performances. I learn a lot with her and love to jam with her on creative things. I sometimes tell her, aren’t we so lucky to get so many blessings our way, even if it’s through the internet. Even that curiosity is a blessing.”

When the journalist mentioned that Katrina Kaif was the bigger star between them when they got married, Vicky Kaushal corrected him by saying, “she still is.” The journalist then noted the fact that he can mention the standing of the two actors, without being uncomfortable, reflects Vicky’s humility and “no ego” personality.

To which, Vicky added, “I don’t think it has got anything to do with humility. It is just being in sync with what the reality is. I will always lift her up, not because she is a superstar but because she has got the heart of a superstar. That’s what I am in love with, that’s what I learn from. I really feel I have found the person who fills the gaps that I had. It makes me a better version of myself. It makes me feel great that I have Katrina as my partner.”

Vicky Kaushal had a good year at the box office with the release of Karan Johar backed Bad Newz. He will be next seen in Chhaava, the historical epic film based on the life of Maratha king Chhatrapati Sambhaji. The film is set to hit the screens in December.
