Even in the face of consecutive setbacks, it seems that Bollywood never runs out of films that it can pin hopes on. And what could be more enticing than an upcoming movie that stars Tabu, Kareena Kapoor, and Kriti Sanon in lead roles?
Helmed by Rajesh Krishnan, the film, titled The Crew, is set against the backdrop of the struggling airline industry and tells the story of three women.
Meanwhile, the film will also have comedian Kapil Sharma making a special appearance. Putting an end to the previous speculations, Tabu recently took to social media to confirm Sharma’s presence in the project and expressed her fondness for the actor-turned-comedian in a heartfelt note.
“आप आए बहार आयी! From the bottom of my heart thank you for being part of #TheCrew. From being on your show to having you as my co-actor, it has always been a delight and a joy!!🙏🏼🌷👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 @kapilsharma,” Tabu noted.
Sharma’s commendable portrayal in Nandita Das’ recent drama film Zwigato had garnered widespread acclaim, with audiences and critics alike appreciating his performance. Bankrolled by Rhea Kapoor and Ektaa R Kapoor, actor Diljit Dosanjh also has a special role in The Crew.
Speaking about the film, Rhea earlier said, “Bringing these three gorgeous, talented movie stars (Tabu, Kareena and Kriti) at the top of their game for my next picture is a dream come true. I am excited, determined, and nervous, and can’t wait for the shoot to begin. Plus, this is the second time I am collaborating with Ektaa after ‘Veere Di Wedding’ and it means the world to me to have her support throughout,” ANI reported.
“It is a quirky fun film. It has got a lot to do with the camaraderie of these three women. It is very well written; it is very funny and has a thrill element to it as well. Obviously, because Rhea is attached to it, it is going to look very good. Rajesh’s Lootcase was so fresh and funny. I am looking forward to finally getting to work with women who I have admired as actors, just play off them and have a good time,” Kriti said during a chat with indianexpress.com.
