Stree 2 box office collection day 29: Stree 2, starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles, has been running in theatres for almost a month now, and has emerged as the biggest Hindi hit of the year. On its 29th day of release, Stree 2 made Rs 2.75 crore, taking its nett domestic total to Rs 539.35 crore, as per industry tracker Sacnilk. The gross worldwide total of the film currently stands at Rs 762.5 crore.
In Delhi-NCR, where Stree 2 had 723 shows, the film observed an occupancy of 10.75 percent on Thursday. In the Mumbai region, with 723 shows, the film saw an occupancy of 13.25 percent. Stree 2 is very close to overtaking Animal’s nett domestic lifetime collections. The Ranbir Kapoor film, which became the biggest hit of his career, made Rs 553.87 crore nett in India. Stree 2 is just Rs 14 crore shy of crossing that number.
Stree 2 is also very close to overtaking Jawan’s Hindi nett collections. Shah Rukh Khan’s biggest-ever hit made Rs 582.31 crore in its Hindi release, and netted Rs 640.25 crore overall in India as it released across multiple languages. The film grossed Rs 1160 crore worldwide. With no significant Hindi releases in theatres this weekend, it seems like Stree 2 will enjoy a smooth run for another week.
The Amar Kaushik directorial is a sequel to the 2018 film titled Stree and also stars Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Bannerjee, and Pankaj Tripathi, among others. The film’s producers announced a buy-one-get-one-free offer on tickets starting from September 13. This could significantly boost the film’s collections over the upcoming weekend. Stree 2 was released in theatres alongside Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham’s Vedaa, both of which disappeared from the theatres soon after their first week. Stree 2 is a part of Dinesh Vijan’s horror comedy universe, which started with 2018’s Stree and was followed by 2021’s Roohi, 2023’s Bhediya and 2024’s Munjya.
