Stree 2 box office collection day 28: The Rajkummar Rao-Shraddha Kapoor starrer horror comedy is on its way to creating history, as it is set to beat the (Hindi) collections of Shah Rukh Khan’s all-time blockbuster Jawan and emerge as the highest-grossing Bollywood film of all time. For that to happen, Stree 2 might have to wait just a little bit longer as it continues to remain steady at the box office, even after three full weeks of release.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film–also starring Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee and Pankaj Tripathi–earned Rs 3 cr on Wednesday, which is in the same range as its Monday and Tuesday collectoins. The film is likely to trend similarly even on Thursday, after which it will register growth over the weekend.

The domestic total of director Amar Kaushik’s film now stands at Rs 536 cr, which puts it just Rs 46 cr shy of crossing the Hindi nett collections of Jawan, which stand at Rs 582 cr according to figures updated by Sacnilk.

Stree 2 should cross Jawan’s Hindi nett numbers by next week, as the film faces no competition at the box office. Kareena Kapoor’s murder mystery The Buckingham Murders hits the screens this Friday, but the Hansal Mehta directorial won’t impact showcasing of Stree 2. As of now, Stree 2’s global collections are over Rs 760 cr and the film is likely to end its run at around Rs 830 cr mark.

In terms of worldwide figures, Stree 2 will fall short of movies like Jawan (Rs 1100 cr), Pathaan (Rs 1050 cr) and Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal, which grossed Rs 915 cr. It will, however, be the most profitable of them all as it is mounted on a reported budget of Rs 130 cr.
