Bollywood actor Sonam Kapoor attended the coronation concert of King Charles III on Sunday. The event, a mark of celebration of his coronation, was also attended by celebrities such as Tom Cruise and Pussycat Dolls’ Nicole Scherzinger. Sonam took to social media to give a glimpse of her special dress that she said was the ‘collaborative vision of two of the most incredible designers from the two countries’.
Sharing multiple photos of her looking lovely in the off-shoulder cream gown with intricate flower designs, she wrote, “Historic moments call for fashion moments. I’m honored to mark the unforgettable occasion of the #Coronationconcert by wearing the collaborative vision of two of the most incredible designers from the two countries I’m lucky to call home..@anamikakhanna.in @emiliawickstead.”
Mother Sunita Kapoor, cousin Shanaya Kapoor were quick to drop red heart emojis on the post. Alia Bhatt’s mother Soni Razdan also wrote, “So lovely Sonam .” Maheep Kapoor also wrote ‘Love’ while Bhumi Pednekar’s sister Samiksha complimented her as she replied with ‘Beautiful’.
Sonam Kapoor’s mother shared the video of the actor taking to the stage to introduce the performances of a couple of choirs at the concert. She was welcomed as one of the ‘biggest Hindi cinema stars’ by the announcer. The Neerja actor greeted the audience with ‘Namaste’ as she went on to say, “Our Commonwealth is a union. Together we are one-third of the world’s people, one-third of the world’s ocean, one-quarter of the world’s land. Each of our countries is unique. Each of our people is special. But we choose to stand as one. Learning from our history, blessed by our diversity, driven by our values and determined to build a more peaceful, sustainable and prosperous future for everyone, where every voice is heard. Without further ado, here’s welcoming the incredible voices from across the Commonwealth.”
Mother Sunita Kapoor shared the video expressing her pride as she wrote, “So proud ! Such an honour”. Sonam also replied to the post writing, ” love you.” Fans however had mixed response to Sonam’s presence on the stage as they dropped comments like, “What an honor Sonam so happy for you and your family. Elated !,” “Wow this is amazing ,” and “Honour? Why giving so much importance to English ppl!,” and “This is no honour. Do something for the country instead.”
On the work front, Sonam Kapoor will next be seen in Shome Makhija’s Blind, also starring Purab Kohli, Vinay Pathak, and Lillete Dubey.
