Shraddha Kapoor says she ‘never imagined’ being most followed Indian actor on Instagram would become ‘big thing’: ‘Can’t do stuff to garner eyeballs’

“I never imagined that this would become a big thing, of having an X number of followers, it just happened. I feel like people want to see who you are, so it is best to just be yourself. Social media is also a place where people feel they have to change who they are to garner eyeballs but that can also affect your mental health. I do try to be as authentic as possible,” she said.

The actor, who routinely engages with her followers and is often seen replying cheekily, said she does a lot of “masti” on the app as she finds entertaining people there, especially under her comments section.

“There is so much creativity in some people’s comments that I feel like replying. I handle my social media myself and the entire credit goes to those who show up and do masti with me. It is very cheesy. It has been a Fabolous medium for me to connect with my fans. What has happened over the years is that we have formed this bond–between me and my Insta family–where we call each other Shraddha Gems or Babudis and this has been growing.

“That is very precious, even if we can’t meet in person. If you ask me for a drawback, the way that I interact with everybody and choose to have my bond with my Insa family, it has only been honestly very positive,” she added.

On the work front, Shraddha Kapoor delivered the biggest blockbuster of Hindi cinema this year with the horror comedy Stree 2, co-starring Rajkummar Rao.
