Actor Eijaz Khan, who plays a supporting role in the recently released film Jawan, spoke about working with Shah Rukh Khan on the movie. He said that he had also worked as a background dancer in one of Shah Rukh’s global concert tours decades ago. Eijaz, who is best known for his television appearances, and for participating in the reality show Bigg Boss, was seen in the film’s trailer as well.

In an interview with Subhojit Ghosh, said that Shah Rukh was as gracious as everyone says he is, and that he would routinely interact with each and every crew member. “The greatest thing about Shah Rukh is that the amount of love we give him, he gives more in return to each and every individual,” he said.

Eijaz added, “When he comes on set, of course everyone’s in a hurry to start. But when he finishes the shoot, he goes to his van and changes, comes back, and then meets each and every person individually, hugs them, and then leaves. And you feel so special. It’s like your day is made, your month is made, your life is made. ‘Shah Rukh Khan hugged me’. If he knows something about you, he will ask.”

Eijaz recalled that the first time he worked with Shah Rukh was in the year 2000, when he was a part of Ganesh Hegde’s dance troupe. Shah Rukh was performing in a tribute show for Raj Kapoor, and Eijaz got a chance to do some ‘skits’ with him as well. When he told Shah Rukh that they’d worked together many years ago, SRK congratulated him on how far he’d come.

Previously, director Tigmanshu Dhulia, who worked alongside Shah Rukh on the film Zero, recalled a similar anecdote about the star. “On Zero, since it was his own production, he would offer chairs to everyone. Ask everyone if they had their food. It felt like we are baraatis, and he is the ladkiwala and we have come to his house for a wedding. Even if he didn’t do it, no one would have a problem. He is Shah Rukh Khan. But no, his manners are extraordinary. He is a very humble man, very well mannered,” he told Mashable.

Directed by Atlee, Jawan was released in theatres to uproarious response on Thursday, September 7. The film also stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, and is expected to deliver the biggest opening day haul in Shah Rukh’s career, outperforming his last hit, Pathaan.
