Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor were at the top of their game when Priyanka was awarded the National Film Award for her work in Madhur Bhandarkar’s Fashion. Kareena was asked about Priyanka’s win and she blatantly said that she ‘does not want the National Award’ and would be happy if the audience watched her movies.

Priyanka was asked about these “snide remarks” in an interview with NDTV and the actor said, “I guess if you don’t have one, you know… sour grapes… What do I say?” Priyanka was also asked about her rumoured fallout with Karan Johar and she said, “I am somebody who is very loyal. I know who my friends are and I keep them very close and that’s not too many people. It’s a few people and that’s how I’d like to keep it.”

Kareena Kapoor was asked about Priyanka Chopra’s win on Karan Johar’s chat show Koffee with Karan and she said, “I don’t want the National Award… I seriously don’t need any such thing. I would only want the audience to go and watch the film once and that will be more than enough for me. Once everybody should see the movie and say it is a good watch.”

Years later, the two actors appeared together on another season of Koffee with Karan and shared that they hardly knew each other at the time when they were making comments about each other in the media. Kareena said, “I think we didn’t even know each other. We never spent enough time with each other. By the time we did, we really started to get along. But till we didn’t do that, it was just weird energy created by people.”

Priyanka Chopra, on a recent podcast with Dax Shepherd, had spoken about her “beef” with people in Bollywood and the reason as to why she moved to the US. “I was being pushed into a corner in the industry (Bollywood). I had people not casting me, I had beef with people, I am not good at playing that game so I kind of was tired of the politics and I said I needed a break,” she said.
