Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has stepped into the world of music with his latest single, “Mahakal Chalo”, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Released on Monday ahead of Maha Shivratri on February 26, the song features Akshay crooning alongside Palash Sen and Vikram Montrose. Following the song’s release, Palash, the frontman of the popular band Euphoria, took to Instagram to shower praises on Akshay and express how he was pleasantly surprised by the actor’s humility.
In an open letter on Instagram, Palash wrote, “Dear Akshay, this is an open letter of appreciation to you. I generally write such posts to highlight an issue that starts bothering me, or to highlight something that purely pisses me off. But today, I write this to highlight something that left me with a smile and pleasantly surprised.”
Drawing a parallel between their journeys, Palash reflected, “For close to 3 decades, we’ve both been around and done our own thing.. You being senior to me.. Also you are a legit superstar & i am still fighting my battles in a way smaller league. I’ve always heard about you as a middle class Delhi boy who has made it in the film industry on his own merit & strength.. That is who i am too, in the music business.”
Palash Sen also spoke about his struggles in Bollywood, stating that the industry hasn’t found him “palatable.” He acknowledged that he and Akshay Kumar come from different worlds but shared how the actor’s generosity during their collaboration took him by surprise. He wrote, “But here you were giving me support & a backing no one from Bollywood has, in years.. And we both didn’t even know each other. And then I met you & saw your humility, respect & your professionalism.”
Further praising Akshay’s personality, Palash lauded his sharp sense of humour, writing, “Another thing that’s rare to find is a kickass sense of humour.. Your comic timing on and off screen is bang on.. And I feel a person who can make someone smile and laugh, has the lord’s blessings.”
“Mahakal Chalo” is cheoreographed by Ganesh Acharya and shows Akshay Kumar and Palash Sen behind the mic.
