Nawazuddin Siddiqui went through a difficult time recently when his marital and familial problems became public. The actor, in a recent interview, said that he has learnt to be a little careful while speaking to others and admitted that he feels “suffocated” sometimes.
In a chat with Siddharth Kannan. Nawazuddin said that he has learnt that one has to “act in real life too”. He shared, “You have to act in real life too. The way you are, you can’t present yourself in the same way. You have to be a little careful. I have to think before speaking.” The actor added, “Sometimes, I feel suffocated.”
When asked about how he handles his emotions since he can’t express himself fully in front of others, Nawazuddin Siddiqui said that earlier he would “explode” but doesn’t do that anymore. “Earlier, I used to feel like I would explode but that doesn’t happen anymore. Now, even if someone slaps me, I will stay quiet,” he said. The Afwaah actor said that he has learnt this “with experience”.
Nawaz added that he has learnt that there are consequences of speaking the truth and was presumably speaking about his memoir, An Ordinary Life, which was pulled back from the shelves. “I tried to speak the truth earlier, and I saw there were a lot of repercussions to that. It got messed up, so I decided to stay silent,” he said. “If I am being misunderstood, it’s okay. Time will tell,” the actor concluded.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui is presently looking forward to the release of Jogira Sara Ra Ra on May 5.
