Sibling actors Ibrahim Ali Khan and Sara Ali Khan have been raised primarily by their mother, actor Amrita Singh, after she got divorced with actor Saif Ali Khan in 2004. While the Race actor still shares a tight bond with his children, he got remarried to actor Kareena Kapoor Khan in 2012. During a recent conversation with Rajeev Masand, Ibrahim opened up about how his parents’ break up affected him and Sara. He also revealed the best advices he received after his acting debut in Nadaaniyan, with Khushi Kapoor.

When asked about the impact of Amrita and Saif’s divorce, he humbly replied that the former couple was very careful about handling the situation in front of their kids. “I was four or five years old, so I don’t remember much. It was probably different for Sara as she was older. But my mom and dad have done a great job of ensuring I didn’t feel the pain that comes with a broken home. I never saw them lose their cool at each other. Some things are just not meant to be,” he shared.

In addition, the actor now sees his father happier than ever before. “Now my dad is much happier with Bebo (Kareena Kapoor) and I’ve got two very handsome and naughty brothers. And my mom is the best mother ever. She takes great care of me, and I live with her. It’s all good,” Ibrahim Ali Khan added.

While his performance in Nadaaniyan received negative reception after it released on Netflix, he remains positive with the two best advices – from dad Saif Ali Khan and actor Priyanka Chopra. “From two people. My dad said this is not the year 2000 when a star can just walk around in a movie and it can be a blockbuster. Today you must be very prepared, and be a quick learner. Most importantly, he said the script and the filmmaker are two things you cannot compromise on,” he said.

He continued, “The second one was from – Priyanka Chopra. She sent me a very sweet -message saying she watched the film and thinks I have a bright future. She said I have to hold my head high and keep grinding; and that I must grow a thick skin. Coming from someone as accomplished as she is, I felt really comforted and motivated.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, Ibrahim Ali Khan has two films Sarzameen and Diler in the pipeline.
