Comedian Munawar Faruqui is on the rise, quite literally, as he has bought a posh new apartment in a skyscraper. According to reports, the TV personality has invested in a premium, luxurious flat in Mumbai which costs Rs 6.09 cr. The new property is located in the upscale neighborhood of New Cuffe Parade, Wadala.
Property documents reviewed by Square Yards revealed that the new house is in a high-rise called Lodha Aura, currently under construction. The building consists of 40 stories and features premium 3 BHK and 4 BHK apartments.
Munawar’s spacious flat will occupy 1,767.97 sq ft of built-up area and will have three exclusive parking spaces. The apartment was purchased on September 16. According to Mashable India, Munawar Faruqui paid a stamp duty of Rs. 36.6 lakh, and a registration fee of Rs. 30,000 for the flat, which he purchased directly from the developer.
Munawar Faruqui has seen a phenomenal rise in under four years, starting his career as a comedian, who’d satire Indian politics and social system. He was arrested in 2021 for hurting religious sentiments but emerged as a more popular figure after his release, starting with winning the Kangana Ranaut-hosted reality show Lock Upp and followed it up with Bigg Boss 17, which he won earlier this year. The Salman Khan-hosted reality show made him a household name.
