In Netflix’s latest crime investigation series Kohrra, messy relationships and a brutal murder go hand in hand. The trailer of the new Punjab-set series was launched on Thursday. The show stars Suvinder Vicky, Barun Sobti, Varun Badola and Harleen Sethi among others
Kohrra, directed by Randeep Jha, follows the investigation into the death of an NRI, whose body is discovered shortly before his wedding. The six-episode show aims to study the impact of grief, as it opens its plot to mutual suspicion and hidden secrets of the characters.
Produced by Clean Slate Filmz, the show is created by Gunjit Chopra, Diggi Sisodia and Sudip Sharma of Paatal Lok fame. The two-minute trailer begins with the murder of the NRI and hints about another missing person, as the two cops, played by Suvinder Vicky and Barun Sobti, begin their hunt to nab the killer and also navigate love and relationships.
According to the streamer, Kohrra is billed as an exploration of human nature, depicting the “darkness within, where the search for justice becomes intertwined with the politics of interpersonal relationships.”
The show also stars Manish Chaudhary and marks the return of British actor Rachel Shelly to an Indian production, who is best known for starring as Elizabeth Russel in Lagaan. Kohrra is written by Gunjit Chopra & Diggi Sisodia with Karnesh Ssharma attached as the executive producer. The show will start streaming from July 15.
