Katrina Kaif touched Manoj Bajpayee’s feet on Rajneeti sets, actor says ‘meri mitti paleed kar di’

Actor Manoj Bajpayee has the reputation of a great craftsman, not just among his fans, but also among his colleagues in the film industry. He is respected so much for his work that Tabu and Katrina Kaif touched his feet on different ocassions, leaving him embarrassed. Tabu and Bajpayee have worked together in films like Missing (2018) and Dil Pe Mat Le Yaar (200), whereas Katrina and Bajpayee starred together in the 2010 film Rajneeti, but they didn’t have any scenes together.

In 2010, at the premiere of Prakash Jha’s film Rajneeti, Bajpayee was called to pose for a photo with the entire cast of the film. This is when Katrina walked up to him and touched his feet and told him, ‘Aap superb actor hain (You are a superb actor).’ This left the actor embarrassed and he hugged Katrina.

Recalling the incident during his latest appearance on Rajat Sharma’s Aap Ki Adalat, Bajpayee said, “Katrina ne toh mitti paleed kar di (she just left me embarrassed). She touched my feet in front of the entire media. It was her way of showing respect towards me after watching Rajneeti. She was so overwhelmed. We were working together (in the movie) but didn’t have any scenes together. She felt, ‘Though I was there only, I never realised that this man is performing like this in the movie.’ So, she felt very glad.”

Bajpayee had a similar experience after the release of Satya in 1998. At that time, it was Tabu who couldn’t stop herself from touching the feet of Bajpayee as a gesture of appreciation. “Tabu watched Satya and she came on the set. In front of everyone, she touched my feet. It was her way to appreciate me,” shared Bajpayee.

However, both incidents left The Family Man actor ’embarrassed’. He said, “I felt a little embarrassed that such a beautiful heroine is touching my feet. You feel too old.” Currently, Manoj Bajpayee is looking forward to the release of his ZEE5 film Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai. It will start streaming on May 23.
