Karisma Kapoor responds to comment on her bravery as legal battle intensifies with Priya Sachdev over Sunjay Kapur’s Rs 30,000 cr estate

Karisma Kapoor has reacted to a post by filmmaker Khalid Mohamed, who praised the actress for being brave. The actor's children are embroiled in legal battle with the third wife of their late father Sunjay Kapur over his estate.

Karisma Kapoor’ has reacted to an Instagram post calling her brave.Karisma Kapoor’s former husband, Sunjay Kapur, passed away earlier this year.

Amid an ongoing legal dispute between her children and her late ex-husband Sunjay Kapur’s wife, Priya Sachdev, over his estate, Karisma Kapoor has responded to a recent Instagram post of filmmaker and former film critic Khalid Mohamed, who directed Karisma in the acclaimed film Fiza and also penned the screenplay for Shyam Benegal’s Zubeidaa. He recently shared a nostalgic black-and-white photograph of the actor on Instagram.

“Dear dear Lolo, always brave.. Against all odds,” Khalid wrote in his caption. Karisma noticed the post and responded warmly, tagging the filmmaker with a simple yet meaningful comment: “Khalid (folded hand, white heart and sparkles emoji).”

The post quickly drew attention from fans, who filled the comment section with messages of support. “Khalidji, your words made me so emotional. I wish @therealkarismakapoor the very best.. I know she’s a strong woman,” one fan wrote, while another added, “Be strong Lolo, we love you.”

Karisma’s former husband, Sunjay Kapur, passed away on June 12 in London after reportedly suffering a heart attack while playing polo. Following his death, an inheritance dispute has surfaced involving his widow Priya and his two children with Karisma. Represented by their mother as legal guardian, Samaira and Kiaan have filed a case in the Delhi High Court, alleging that Priya forged Sunjay’s will. They claim that their father had “repeatedly assured” them of their rightful share, which was absent from the will Priya presented at a family meeting on July 30.

In response, Priya has maintained that the will is genuine, telling the court in a recent hearing there is “nothing unusual in the bequest” and asserting that “obviously the present wife would be preferred over the estranged wife.” On the other hand, however, Sunjay’s sister Mandira Kapur Smith spoke candidly in an interview with journalist Vickey Lalwani, accusing Priya of contributing to the collapse of her brother’s marriage with Karisma.

Mandhira said, “I had known about them (Priya and Sunjay) since they met on that flight, and I wasn’t happy about it. Lolo (Karisma) and Sanjay, my brother, were in a good place, actually. Kian was born. My brother was obsessed with his kids. I think for another woman to not care about a woman who’s just had a child is in bad taste. To come and disrupt a family is in bad taste. And I will leave it there. I think the world knows what I’m saying. You don’t break up a happy marriage. Not even a happy marriage, you don’t break up a marriage that is trying to work on keeping a family together. When you’ve got a child, you’ve just had another child, you step aside and say, ‘You know what?’ Or you encourage the man to go back and make it work. You don’t destroy a marriage. And Lolo did not deserve that. Lolo was also working very hard to make this marriage work. She did not deserve what came to her.”
