Kangana Ranaut is (in)famous for her outspoken nature. Not only has she fearlessly called out nepotism in Bollywood, but the actor has also openly criticised many of her peers for what she perceives as bad behaviour.
Meanwhile, the National Award-winning actor recently took potshots at actors who dedicate considerable time to gym workouts. Questioning why actors prioritise gym sessions when preparing for roles, she asked, “Why do they always hit the gym first, regardless of the role or preparation required? I don’t know, gym mein karte hi kya hain (what exactly do they do at gyms?)”
She also expressed her bewilderment about the time they find for gym workouts. “I have never received any such roles. Even in the case of Tejas Gill… Though combat training was necessary, I never resorted to gym workouts. That’s a different kind of training. It’s quite strange that most actors rely on the gym for every role preparation. It’s very superficial,” she shared during a conversation with Times Now Navbharat.
Kangana further observed, “Our actors and actresses have become very self-obsessed. They spend their days looking at mirrors, somewhere forgetting that they are not models or pop stars. Many seem to be so influenced by westernisation that they have lost sight of their role as actors. They seem to overlook the true essence of being an actor and are overly fixated on physical appearances.”
“This has created a structure where women are expected to arrive looking tip-top regardless of the nuances of the characters they portray. It seems that the primary focus has become getting dressed up for work,” she concluded.
While Kangana Ranaut was last seen in P Vasu’s Tamil horror comedy Chandramukhi 2, she is currently gearing up for the release of Sarvesh Mevara’s Bollywood action thriller Tejas, in which she will essay the role of an Indian Air Force pilot. The film will hit screens on October 27.
