Sussanne Khan and Zayed Khan’s mother Zarine Khan passed away on November 7. She was 81. A few days after her death, Sussanne’s ex-husband and actor Hrithik Roshan’s mother Pinkie Roshan has taken to Instagram to pay tribute to Zarine and also recalled the ‘rare’ friendship that the two shared. Even though Hrithik and Sussanne’s marriage ended in divorce, the two continue to remain friends and are co-parenting their children. The two families are also on good terms and Hrithik was seen giving a heartfelt eulogy to his late mother-in-law at her prayer meet.
Pinkie Roshan shared that despite Sussanne Khan and Hrithik Roshan’s divorce, their mothers chose ’empathy and compassion’. “Our children grew apart and whilst facing their toughest phase we as mothers chose empathy and compassion over bitterness and hatred,” she wrote.
She added, “We got even closer as we consoled each other with tears in our eyes hugged each other comforted each other……. Tried our best and we found our bond getting stronger and our friendship,,,more secure than ever….Zar i will miss you.”
In another post, Pinkie Roshan wrote, “Zarine Khan. In todays world where we all need therapy counselling but anyone who knew Zar ….she was therapy.”
For the unversed, Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan were married in the year 2000. They parted ways 14 years after marriage. They, however, remain cordial after seperation and co-parent their sons, Hridhaan Roshan and Hrehaan Roshan.
Zarine Khan passed away from a heart attack in her Juhu home on November 7. Zarine briefly pursued acting and starred in films such as Tere Ghar Ke Saamne (1963) and Ek Phool Do Mali (1969). In 1966, she married Sanjay Khan and stepped away from films. She did, however, go on to build a successful career in interior designing after marriage. Zarine is survived by her husband, Sanjay Khan, and their children, Sussanne Khan, Zayed Khan, Simone Arora, and Farah Ali Khan.
