After an underwhelming start followed by a good extended weekend, Fighter faced its first crucial Monday test. The Hrithik Roshan-Deepika Padukone starrer aerial actioner minted Rs 8 cr as per early estimates posted by industry tracker Sacnilk.
According to trade, for a healthy lifetime run at the box office, the Siddharth Anand directorial had to maintain figures in double digits after the big 4-day weekend which included the Republic Day holiday. But with collections under Rs 10 cr, Fighter seems to be gearing up for a tough road ahead.

After its five-day run, the domestic collection of Fighter stands at Rs 126.50 cr while the global box office is around Rs 220 cr mark. The collection of Fighter will lag behind Siddharth Anand’s last blockbuster Pathaan (which minted Rs 524 cr in Hindi) as well as Hrithik Roshan’s last collaboration with the filmmaker, War, which earned Rs 318 cr. On its first Monday. War had earned Rs 21.50 crore.
With the film falling in single digits on its first Monday, the current pace indicates that Fighter’s lifetime collection will find it tough to match the first week (extended) of War, which was at Rs 248 cr.
Also starring Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, and Akshay Oberoi, among others, Fighter was the first big Bollywood release of the year. It now has a free run till the release of Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon starrer romantic comedy Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. It releases on February 9.
