Bollywood actor Divya Dutta has opened up about how people in the film industry did not find her glamorous. The actor also shared how director Pamela Rooks once threw her pictures away.

In an interview with ANI, Dutta agreed that she did not fit the mould when she entered Bollywood. The actor said, “My only problem was I looked very chotu (small) by age. So everybody felt that I was a kid because I tend to look younger. So they would say ‘glamour kaha se….’ It wasn’t easy to fit in.”

Divya Dutta also said that when she had completely given up, she got a call from Pamela Rooks for the film Train To Pakistan. She said, “Train to Pakistan of course at that time was a parallel cinema. And I found my niche that side where I fit in and where I did what I wanted to do. I got that creative satisfaction when I started working in Train to Pakistan. After that I got Shaheed E Mohabbat, then I did a Shyam Benegal film and then things happened.”

However, the actor said that when she went to meet Pamela for Train to Pakistan, with glamorous pictures, she got a different reaction. She said, “She didn’t like my glamourous pictures and threw them and then she said, ‘But I like you.’ She took a long dramatic pause and said, ‘I want a child woman in my film and you’re a child woman.’ So she got it right and I really enjoyed doing that film.”
